3 steps That Will Keep Your Kids Engaged with Sensory Activities
1. Make the familiar NEW. Introduce NEW sensory activities with sensory bin fillers that you already know your child enjoys! Sometimes a change in the theme is enough to hold your childs attention and provide new exploration opportunities which lead to longer engagement.
2. Switch up the play environment. Moving an activity indoors or outdoors can affect your childs sensees in a different way and spark new opportunities for creative thinking. This is also a great opportunty to move an activity from the table to the wall or switch up the play tools!
3. Play mucic in the background! Remember that music allows your child to tap into another level of sensory processing. I love to play soothing ocean sounds while painting or nature sounds if we have a safari themed sensory activity.
